A Legal notice has been issued seeking punishment for eight officials of BIWTA for the accident of Pinak-6 and failure in the rescue operation.
In the notice, 72 hours time has been given for initiating the census to determine the real number of vehicles operating in the country's waterways, enforcing mandatory registration for each transport or vehicles, launching the fitness program.
The notice has been issued in favor of the ten officials of the shipping minister including its secretary on behalf of Supreme court lawyer Enamul Haq Mollah, Ashish Kumar Dey, PTBNews24.com's editor-in-chief and convener of the national committee for protection of the roads, waterways and railways, and Tushar Rehman, general secretary of citizen rights movement and president of passengers' rights protection.
