The workers of a garment factory have staged demonstration over unpaid wages in Ashulia on Monday morning.
The workers of Iyagee Bangladesh located at Beron area under Ashulia observed work-abstention from the morning till the afternoon.
Workers and police said the workers were supposed to be given the unpaid wages for the last month on Sunday, but the authorities of the factory did not pay the salaries.
Moreover, the authority have sacked 26 factory workers on Monday morning.
Following the termination, the workers became agitated and started demonstration.
Later, in the afternoon the factory was announced closed.
Mostafizur Rahman, director of Ashuliya industrial police, said police managed to control the situation. Security has been beefed up in the area to avoid any untoward situation.
