A doctor has been killed after a bus collided with a private car near Baromail area of Veramara upazila of Kushtia district on Monday.
Seven others were also injured in the accident.
The deceased is Ameerul Islam, 48, son of Dr Abul Hossain from Customs Mor area of Veramara upazila.
He was resident doctor of Veramara Health Complex.
Witnesses said a Dhaka bound passenger bus collided head-on with Ameerul's private car near Baro Mile area around 10am.
The gas cylinder of the private car exploded at the collision, leaving Ameerul dead on the spot.
The injured were rushed to Kushtia General Hospital.
