Cabinet orders diplomatic initiative to stop Gaza killings

The cabinet has ordered the foreign ministry to take diplomatic initiative to stop killings in Gaza.

The directive was issued from the regular cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Cabinet Secretary M Musharraf Hossain Bhuiyan briefed reporters after the meeting.

The cabinet once again discussed a condemn motion in the meeting on Monday.

A fresh three-day ceasefire came effect on Monday after Israel and Palestinian faction Hamas in Gaza agreed on it.

About 2,000 people have died in the conflict, which began on 8 July when Israel launched an operation intended to deter militant attacks from Gaza.
