Tuba Group to pay July wages on Sunday

Tuba group will pay due and overtime wages of the month of July to the workers of its five factories on Sunday.

The decision came from a tripartite meeting among delegates of workers, owners and the government on Saturday.

Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) paid the salaries of May and June to Tuba Group workers on Wednesday and Thursday.

A total of 1,475 workers of Tuba Group received the partial dues from the BGMEA in two days.

Earlier on Thursday, State Minister for Labour Mujibul Haque Chunnu had warned that actions would be taken against the garment owners if the dues of Tuba Group are not paid by Sunday.

On August 3, Shipping Minister Shahjahan khan announced that the dues of May and June would be given on August 6 and the dues of July on August 10 on the BGMEA premises.

However, the Tuba Group Sramik Sangram Committee demanded the dues of last three months to be paid at one time.
