At least four people have been killed and 11 others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a truck on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway near Shuklalhat area under Sitakunda upazila of Chittagong on Friday morning.
Of the deceased, three are identified as Obaidullah, 43, driver of the truck, Abul Kashem, 35, driver of the bus and one Jarina Begum, 40.
Kumira Highway police outpost In-Charge Zillur Rahim said: “A Chittagong-bound bus from Dhaka collided head-on with a tuck coming from the opposite direction around 6am, leaving three people, including drivers of both the vehicles dead on the spot and 11 others injured.”
“Later, one of the injured succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.”
The injured have been admitted at Chittagong Medical College Hospital and Sitakunda Upazila Health Complex.
