A young girl died yesterday after her scarf got tangled up with one of the wheels of an easybike she was riding near Ghor-e-Shahid Mazar in Lalbagh.
The deceased was identified as Sharifa Akhter Nila, 16, first year student of Azimpur Girls School and College. The incident took place at around 9am when the victim was on her way to college.
Eye-witnesses said Nila’s scarf was caught on the wheel of the vehicle and she was pulled out of the vehicle onto the road.
“It was the first day of college. Nila was a brilliant student. She did very well in her SSC examination,” said Eti, Nila’s friend and an eye-witness of the incident, while talking to the Dhaka Tribune.
