The government will recruit about 10,000 nurses in the public sector hospitals and clinics across the country.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made the announcement while inaugurating the programmes of World Breastfeeding Week 2014 at a function at Osmani Memorial Hall in the capital on Wednesday, reports BSS.
A higher institution for post-graduate nursing studies would be established in the country, she said.
The premier also said two more child hospitals would be set up in the capital, one in the east part and other in the west part.
Besides, a child hospital will be built in each division, she also said.
Sheikh Hasina also urged all to work together to build a happy, healthy and prosperous Bangladesh for the future generation.
