Eight top police officers have been transferred and given new postings in a recent reshuffling of the police administration.
According to a Home Ministry order issued yesterday, Md Nowsher Ali, deputy inspector general of Chittagong Range, has been transferred as the DIG of Telecommunications and Information Management, Dhaka. He has been replaced by CMP Commissioner Mohammad Shafiqul Islam.
Mir Shahidul Islam, DIG of the Rajshahi Range, has been made the DIG of Special Branch, Dhaka, while Md Iqbal Bahar, DIG of Telecommunications and Information Management, Dhaka, has been transferred to the Rajshahi Range.
Abu Musa Mohammad Fakhrul Islam, director of Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital, has been sent to the Armed Police Battalion headquarters, Dhaka as the DIG, replaced by Dr Mohammad Sadiqur Rahman, former DIG of the Railway Range, presently attached with the police headquarters after completing the NDC course.
Md Moniruzzaman, DIG of APBn, has been appointed the DIG of newly formed River Police, while Humayun Kabir, DIG of the police headquarters, has been sent to the Barisal Range.
