Five police officials have been injured in an attack while trying to catch some absconding accused at Azmiriganj upazila in Habiganj on Monday morning.
Of the injured, Constable Shahdat Hossain has been admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital.
Some accused in a case attacked a police team led by Kaklaichheyo police outpost In-Charge Abul Kashem when they went to Azmiriganj upazila to catch them who were at large, police said.
Five police officials were injured when they miscreants attacked them with sharp weapons.
Later, Constable Shahdat was admitted to Habiganj Sadar Hospital while the others were given primary treatment.
Azmiriganj police station Officer-in-Charge Toimur Bokhot Chowdhury confirmed about the attack to the Dhaka Tribune.
He said: “We are trying to arrest the culprits involved with the attack.”
