Ekram killing: Arrest warrant against Minar

A Feni court has issued an arrest warrant against BNP leader Mahtab Uddin Chowdhury Minar, the prime accused in the Ekram murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Alamgir Mohammad Faruky issued the warrant on Sunday.

Defence lawyer Abu Taher said: “The court has issued the arrest warrant canceling his bail petition.”

On July 20, the High Court ordered Minar to surrender before a lower court within two weeks.

On July 17, BNP leader Mahtab Uddin Chowdhuty Minar was freed from jail upon an ad interim bail.

Earlier, DB Police arrested Minar from a house in Kachukhet area in the capital on May 27.

Feni's Fulgazi upazila chairman and Awami League leader Ekramul Haque was shot first and then burned alive in his car in broad daylight in the town on May 20.

Police have arrested 15 persons so far in the Ekram murder case.
