BSF picks up Bangladeshi from Thakurgaon

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has picked up a Bangladeshi youth from Dharmagar border in Takhurgaon on Friday morning, a day after the BSF returned four Bangladeshis.

The victim, Md Jahangir, 22, was picked up around 11:30am.

Intelligence Officer Major Tawhid bin Ishaq of BGB 30 Battalion told the Dhaka Tribune: “We have heard the news and sent a letter to the BSF for holding a flag meeting in this connection. However, the reason behind the detention could not be known immediately.”

Earlier on Thursday, the BSF has returned four Bangladeshis in exchange of an Indian national, who was picked up forcefully by some Bangladeshis.
