Missing tourist’s body found in Jaflong

The body of a tourist, who went missing WEdnesday while bathing in the Piyain river at Jaflong, has been recovered from the area on Thursday afternoon.

The deceased is Kamrul, 20, son of khursid Alam of Sylhet town.

The body was recovered around 12pm, Sylhet Fire Service Senior Station Officer Javed Hossain Muhammad Tarek told the Dhaka Tribune.

Goainghat police station Officer-in-Charge Abdul Hai said: “Kamrul had fallen into a quicksand trap while bathing in the the Piyain river.”

The fire service team lead by Station Officer Adhir Chandra Hawlader recovered his body after 18 hours of salvage operation around 12pm, he added.
