Three people have been killed in separate road accidents in Mymensingh on Monday.Also 25 people were injured in these accidents.
Police and witnesses said two buses lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Rahamatpur in Mymensingh on Mymensingh-Tangail highway on Monday morning as both were trying to give each other side. Nurul Amin, one of the bus passengers, was killed as he fell under bus. At least ten passengers were injured.
Meanwhile, 1 person was killed and 15 were injured as two bus collided head-on in Kapalipara on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road in the morning.
Officer-in-charge Saiful Islam of Nandail police said Mymensingh-bound bus collided with another Kisoreganj-bound bus coming from opposite direction. At least 16 people were injured. Seven of them were later brought to Ishwarganj Upazila Health Complex. Later Rumela Akter (45) died among them. Six of the injured were admitted to Nandail Upazila Health Complex and three were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
Also, around 4am on Monday, a pedestrian, Ratan Mia, get injured as a bus ran over him in the Sambhuganj Bridge area when he was crossing the road. Then he rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he died later. The deceased is the son of Mamun Mia, of Kendua in Netrokona district.
