The government has appointed Mohamed Mijarul Quayes as the new Ambassador of Bangladesh to Brazil.
He is currently serving as Bangladesh High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
A foreign ministry press release said this on Sunday.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, Quayes has pursued ambassadorship in the Maldives and Russia.
Quayes, a member of the 1982 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre, also served in Bangladesh Missions in Tokyo, Singapore and Geneva in various capacities.
Quayes had also served as a Foreign Secretary in the ministry during 2009-12.
He obtained a Bachelor degree in Liberal Arts from Dhaka University and a Master in Public Administration degree from Harvard Kennedy School of Government (USA).
Quayes is married and blessed with two daughters.
