The government has appointed M Abdul Hannan as the new High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom.
A press release issued from the foreign ministry said this on Sunday.
Hannan is currently serving as Bangladesh Ambassador to Switzerland and Permanent Representative to the UN Offices in Geneva and Vienna.
In his distinguished diplomatic career, Hannan has pursued ambassadorship in Oman.
He also served in Bangladesh Missions in Karachi of Pakistan, Ottawa of Canada, Kolkata of India and Moscow of Russia in various capacities.
A career diplomat, Hannan is a member of the 1984 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre.
Abdul Hannan obtained MSS degree in Economics from Chittagong University.
He also achieved a Master of Arts in Diplomacy from the University of Lancaster, UK.
He is married and blessed with two sons.
