Six killed in road accidents in 3 districts

At least six people have been killed and 24 injured in road accidents in Dhaka, Chuadanga and Sirajganj districts Monday.

According to Savar correspondent, three persons were killed and 15 others injured in an accident at Dhamrai in Savar outskirt of the capital.

Police said Kaosar,22, son of Anowar Hossain, Sirajul Islam,30,son of Imtiaz Ali and Biswajit Saha, son of Narendra Kumar Saha of Manikganj were killed and 15 injured when a passenger bus carrying them collided head on with a truck coming from the opposition direction.

On information, police recovered the bodies and send those to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital morgue.

Dhamrai model police station Officer-in-Charge Firoz Talukder confirmed the incident.

In Chuadanga, a man was killed and four were injured in an accident on the Chuadanga-Jhenaidah Highway at Begumganj area in the district.

According to police sources, Zarina Khatun, 50, wife of Mohor Ali in Sadar upazila was killed and the four were injured when the passenger bus carrying them plunged into a roadside ditch.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital morgue.

The injured were admitted to the hospital.

Sadar police station Officer-in-Charge Munshi Asaduzzaman confirmed the incident.

In Sirajganj, two fish traders were killed and five others injured in an accident in Tarash upazila.

OC BM Imdadul Haque of Sirajganj Hatikumrul Highway police station said a Dhaka-bound truck had hit a pickup van on the Hatikumrul-Bonpara highway leaving Bipad, 45, son of Deben Hawlader and Jakir, 30, dead on the spot. The injured were admitted to a private hospital. On information, the police recovered the bodies.
