Ace fashion designer Sabyasachi flagged off the India Couture Week with Rani Mukerji adorning the front row yesterday in New Delhi.
Entitled “Ferozabad” the collection had the old-world charm of the city of Mughal Emperor Akbar.
Sabyasachi’s muse Rani, who was looking spectacular wearing a beige embellished zardozi saree, did most of the talking on behalf of the designer as he was unwell.
“I feel really emotional seeing his collection. One could see the hard work, the blood and sweat he has put into every outfit. Every show of Sabyasachi is different,” Rani told the reporters.
The ramp was decorated like the compartment of a luxury train and the designer beautifully depicted the humdrum of a train journey. The six-day fashion extravaganza will see nine of the country’s top designers.
