A 30-kilometre tailback has been created on Dhaka-Tangail highway following a road accident at Islampur of Natiapara area under Delduar upazila in Tangail on Friday morning.
Highway police said the tailback occurred as a charcoal-laden truck collided turned upside down on the highway after the driver lost his control over the steering around 8am.
The accident disrupted traffic on both sides of highway, inflicting sufferings on thousands of passengers.
Goari police station Assistant Sub-Inspector Md Sumon said: “The police are trying to normalise the vehicular movement.”
