A total of 25 Bangladeshi children who fell victim to human traffickers returned home from India on Tuesday.
The Indian Border Security Force handed over them to Border Guard Bangladesh in the evening.
Naik Subedar Hafizur Rahman, in charge of BGB Benapole check post, said a gang of human traffickers trafficked these underprivileged children.
The Indian police arrested them and sent them to different shelter homes with the help of a human rights organisation that informed Bangladesh National Women Lawyers’ Association of the matter. The BNWLA then took steps to bring them back home with the help of the government, Hafiz added.
