The transport strike throughout Rajshahi division demanding ban on illegal vehicles on highways has been withdrawn on Wednesday.
The strike has been called off following a meeting among the divisional authorities with the Rajshahi transport owners and workers’ association around 12pm.
District Motor Workers Association General Secretary Mahtab Uddin said: "The decision about banning the illegal vehicles was enforced on June 9. But after some days, the vehicles again started plying on highways."
Earlier, the transport owners and workers association called the strike from 6am demanding ban on illegal vehicles on highways.
