Direct Fresh featured at Google I/O conference

Direct Fresh, a Dhaka-based grocery delivery start-up, has been featured at this year’s Google I/O conference in San Francisco, California on June 25-26.

According to a press release, the company was selected as a Google Business Group Success Story from more than 50 businesses worldwide based on its innovative use of technology, validity of its business model, and potential for growth and impact.

“A two minute video about Direct Fresh was played to the more 5,000 people attending live and more than a million people participating remotely from around the globe.”

Direct Fresh delivers fresh and safe produce, dry goods, and more from Bangladesh and around the world to households and institutions in Dhaka.

The company, which launched its website and delivery service in January 2014, is committed to addressing food safety issues by working with farmers, retailers, restaurants, and end consumers to promote safe farming practices and creating a market for high quality products.

Direct Fresh now gives Bangladeshis living abroad in the US, UK, or Australia the opportunity to send groceries to family living in Dhanmondi, Uttara, Bashundhara, Gulshan, Banani, or Baridhara.
