The shipping ministry has ordered the naval police to cover the entire waterways area with security blanket ahead of Eid ul-Fitr.
Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan has made the call following an inter-ministerial meeting at the ministry on Sunday.
Shahjahan Khan said: “The home ministry has appointed 371 naval police. But they are yet to start their duties as they did not get any governmental office till now.”
The naval police will start their duties ahead of Eid ul-Fitr, he added.
