City life troubled by rain

The torrential rainfall has lashed many parts of the capital on Saturday, causing misery for the city dwellers.

The downpour has inundated the city streets under knee-deep water in many areas, including Kakrail, Mouchak, Malibagh, Karwanbazar, Mirpur, Kazipara, Shewrapar, Shyamoli, Kathalbagan, Green Road and Motijheel area.

Commuters, especially the office-goers are experiencing immense suffering as the vehicular movement in these areas have been restricted.

People in many areas had to wade through the water-logged streets.

According to the Met office, due to active monsoon over Bangladesh heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely to occur at places over Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chittagong divisions during next 24 hrs.

Squally weather may continue over North Bay, adjoining coastal areas and maritime ports.

Maritime ports Of Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal No three.

All fishing boats and trawlers over north bay have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution till further notice.
