“After the review, we understand that it is not possible for Bangladesh to satisfy the US"

Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed made the statement in his reaction to the US report on GSP review.

“The TIB has no evidence of corruption allegations. It claims to have been carrying out the investigation for the past two years but never talked to the officials of the ministry. This report is baseless. Either you have to come up with specific instances or you have to seek apology – there is no alternative"

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid said in the presence of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the assembly with Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Main opposition Jatiya Party chief HM Ershad yesterday asked the ruling party to not laugh at him or his party.

“Have you [Awami League] played your just role as opposition in the past... [I have heard] that the [members of] cabinet laugh at us [JaPa]. Please do not laugh at us. That would be injustice to democracy. Do not learn from bad examples in the past,” Ershad told the House while delivering his closing speech for the second session of the 10th parliament.

“She [Khaleda Zia] is threatening movement all the time. Her party wants to overthrow the government through movement but their movement means killing, arson and bombing. This county is ours, we cannot allow such a situation to continue here"
