PM meets president at Bangabhaban

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has apprised President Abdul Hamid of the outcome of her recent visits to Japan and China.

The PM has made the appraisal during a call on the President at Bangabhaban on Wednesday evening, reports BSS.

During the meeting, the premier has apprised the president that Japan has pledged to give Bangladesh $6 billion dollar as assistance in the socio- economic development of Bangladesh in next 4-5 years.

About the China visit, Hasina said the Chinese government will take all possible measures to reduce China favoured trade gap between Bangladesh and China.

The Chinese grant has been increased to $50 million dollar from $25 million dollar, Hasina said.

President Hamid expressed hope that the economic cooperation made during the visits of prime minister to Japan and China will be implemented successfully.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited Japan on May 24 on a four-day visit. She went China on June 6 on a six-day official visit.
