A construction worker has died and two others have been injured when the wall of an under-construction building collapsed on them in Hill View residential area under Panchlaish police station in Chittagong early Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Aslam, Chittagong Medical College Hospital police outpost duty officer Pankaj Barua has told the Dhaka Tribune.
Locals said the construction workers were sleeping in a make-shift house located in the boundary wall of the under construction building on Saturday night. All on a sudden, the boundary wall collapsed on them at 3:30am.
On information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and rescued the injured three workers and sent them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Jashim Uddin, deputy assistant director of fire service headquarters has told the Dhaka Tribune.
Duty doctors at CMCH declared Aslam dead. The rest two are undergoing treatment at the hospital, Jasim added.
