Eight more portable weighing machines are being installed at different points of the highways to control overloading in trucks and lorries, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader has said.
The minister said this while replying to a question from treasury bench member M Abdur Rahman in the House on Thursday, reports BSS.
The government has already installed eight excel load control stations at various points on highways to control overloading, Quader informed the parliament.
The excel load control stations already installed are at Bathuli of Manikganj, Meghna Bridge of Narayanganj, Gumti Bridge of Daudkandi, Sitakunda of Chittagong, Moinamati on Moinamati Brahmanbaria road, Jagdishpur and Rustompur of Hobiganj and Keranihat of Dohazari.
Replying to another question, the minister said the construction of the Dhaka-Chittagong four lanes at field level is going in full swing to complete the work by December this year.
