President, PM mourn Sardar Fazlul's death

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed their deep shock at the death of Professor Sardar Fazlul Karim, noted philosopher, educationalist and former member of legislative assembly.

They expressed their condolence in separate messages issued on Sunday, reports BSS.

President Abdul Hamid in his message said the country has lost a scholar and a philosopher at the death of Karim.

In another condolence message, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said Prof Sardar Fazlul Karim has devoted his whole life for building a knowledge-based society through teaching, practice of knowledge and social and political research.

They also prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to members of the bereaved family.

Sardar Fazlul Karim died in the capital's Samarita Hospital around 12:45am on Sunday. He was 89.
