A fresh committee of Newspaper Owners’ Association Bangladesh was formed at its executive committee’s meeting held on June 8.
Matiur Rahman, publisher of the Prothom Alo, was elected the NOAB president while AK Azad, publisher of the Samakal, the vice-president, and Matiur Rahman Chowdhury, chief editor of the Manabzamin, was re-elected the treasurer. The other members are: Mahfuz Anam, editor of the Daily Star; Tasmima Hosen, acting editor of Ittefaq; MA Malek, editor of Dainik Azadi; Shahidullah Khan, president of editorial board of the New Age; AHM Moazzem Hossain, editor of the Financial Express; and Riazuddin Ahmed, editor of the News Today.
The committee adopted a condolence motion on the demise of NOAB’s former president Mahbubul Alam.
