The ministry of youth and sports formed a four-member probe committee led by its joint secretary Monzurul Quader in order to investigate the boundary wall collapse incident in Sylhet divisional stadium.
The committee was asked to submit the report within three working days after completion of the investigation.
Earlier in the day, three members of a family were killed in the wall collapse of the Sylhet divisional stadium due to heavy downpour.
The deceased are Jahed, son of tea cultivator Azan Ali, his sister Nasima Akter and nephew Ruhul.
The ministry Public Relation Officer Shafiqul Islam said: “State Minister for Youth and Sport Biren Sikder ordered the authority concerned to form a probe committee to find out the reason behind the collapse. Those who will found responsible, will be punished. The state minister instructed the authority to take immediate steps in this regard.”
The probe committee has left for the spot and started its work immediately after the order was issued, Shafiqul said.
