The High Court has summoned GM Joynal Abedin Bhuiyan, chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk), for committing contempt of court.
The Rajuk boss has been asked to appear before the court on July 8 to explain why a High Court verdict that directed to give plots to three persons in Purbachal project, “was yet to be implemented.”
The HC bench comprising of Justice Ashfaqul Islam and Justice Ashraful Kamal passed the order in response to pleas of the three aggrieved persons— Dilip Kumar Mukhargee, Nirmal Kumar Das and Kashinath Ghosh.
Asrarul Hoque, petitoner’s lawyer, told the Dhaka Tribune: “On July 19, 2012 the High Court directed Rajuk to give plots to the trio whose lands of 17 decimals each were acquired for implementing the Purbachal new town residence project.
However, the petitioners did not get the plots which prompted them to file contempt petitions against chief of Rajuk and three others,” he added.
