A man has been chopped to death in his own flat at Rajdighipar area in Gazipur on Monday night.
The deceased is Shahidul Islam, 35, son of Fazlul Hoque and former president of Document Writers' Association.
Joydebpur police station Sub-Inspector Rajib said: “Shahid returned home around 11am with his wife Rahima Akhter and their daughter Srishti, 2, left in one room while Shahid slept in another.”
Later, his body was found on the floor on Tuesday morning.
He said: “On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Gazipur Sadar morgue around 9am.”
The SI said: “Injuries of sharp weapon have been noticed all over his face and body.”
