The Barisal University authority has served show cause notices to its six students for assaulting six university staff and ransacking the register officer.
The noticed students are Aqib Zaved Khan and Al-Mamun 3rd-year students of Marketing; Reza Sharif and Enamul Huq Moni 3rd-year students of Management Studies, Saidul Islam of 3rd-year Economics and Mithun Dey of 1st-year Political Science.
Manirul Islam, BU acting register and convener of BU officers-staff solidarity council, said: “The university authority has served show cause notices to its six students and they were asked to submit their replies to the authority within June 12.”
Among the show cause noticed students, Aqib Zaved Khan, Al-Mamun, Reza Sharif and Enamul Huq Moni are also included in a list of 50 accused in the case lodged by Barisal University authority on June 7 for ransacking the register office, damaging furniture, office equipments, documents and assaulting 4 officials and staff on June 5.
Professor Dr Harunor Rashid Khan, BU vice chancellor told the Dhaka Tribune that stern action will be taken against the accused on the basis of the report of the probe committee and replies to the show cause notices.
