The Anti Corruption Commission has filed a case against the director general of directorate general of food on charge of illegally taking financial benifit from a World Bank project.
Deputy Director of ACC SM Mofidul Islam filed the case against Ahmed Hossain Khan with Shahbagh police station on Sunday night.
Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, public relations officer of the ACC endorsed the information with the Dhaka Tribune.
According to the case statement, Food DG Ahmed Hossain took over Tk79,000 from the consultancy firm of a World Bank project as plane fare for his wife and son during his recent visit to Bangkok for the project purpose.
The ACC also sued the managing director of the consultancy firm, Sthapati Sangsad Limited, for misappropriating Tk43,000 in the name of the Food DG.
