A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by the members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) in Agrabhulat area along Benapole border in Sharsha upazila early Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Parvez, 21, a cattle trader and son of Sujon Master of Agravulot village of the upazila.
Shamsur Rahman, company commander of BGB 23 Battalion, said Parvez was severely injured as members of Jhaudanga camp BSF opened fire at him while he was returning with cattle from the Indian side of the border around 4am.
Parvez was rescued by his fellow cattle traders. He succumbed to injuries on the way to his home.
