N’ganj killing: HC orders to arrest 3 RAB officials

The High Court has directed to arrest the three RAB officials, who were withdrawn from the services on allegation of the involvement in seven abductions and killings in Narayanganj.

The bench of Mirza Hossain Haider and Khurshid Alam Sarker has passed the order around 1pm on Sunday.

DU expels 4 BCL activists

Four students involved in Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), a student wing of ruling Awami League, have been expelled from Dhaka University for indefinite period for their alleged involvement in abduction of a trader.

War crime charges against ex-JP MP Jabbar

Prosecution has pressed five chargers including genocide against former Jatiya Party lawmaker Mohammad Abdul Jabbar for his involvement in war crimes during the Liberation War in 1971.

Prosecutor Zahid Imam has submitted the charges to the registrar office at around 11am on Sunday.

5 inmates fled from Jessore juvenile dev centre

Five inmates fled from Jessore Juvenile Development Centre on Saturday night.

Emdadul Haque Sheikh, officer in-charge of Kotwali police station confirmed about the incident to the Dhaka Tribune.

“Five inmates of Jessore Juvenile Development Centre fled from there at around 8:30pm on Saturday,” Emdadul said.

DMCH resumes its emergency services

Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) has returned to its normal course around 10am on Sunday after the medical services at the emergency unit halted following an attack on doctors by unidentified criminals on Saturday night.

Sub-Inspector Mozammel Huqe, In-charge of DMCH outpost told the Dhaka Tribune that the hospital began to come in its normal state around 10am.

N’ganj killing: Matia visits victims’ family

Agriculture Minister Begum Matia Chowdhury has visited the family members of slain Narayanganj city corporation panel mayor Nazrul Islam and six others on Sunday.

During her visit, she consoled the relatives of the victims and said the accused will be found out through a proper investigation and brought to justice.
