Premier kabaddi starts today

The Walton Smartphone 14th Premier Division Kabaddi League with the participation of 13 teams starts at the Kabaddi stadium today.

Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation laid a new format in order to select players for the Asian Games training camp. Splitting the teams into four groups, the federation opted for a Super Four phase with the four group winners. The change in format will also see the league completed in just six days compared to the 20 days needed if played over a single league.

The participating teams are defending champions Bangladesh Army, runners-up BGB, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Jails, Fire Service, Azad Sporting, Dhaka Wanderers, Jurain Janata, Maniknagar Kabaddi Club, Shahid Mozaffar Smriti Sangsad and Sonali Babnk Recreation Club.

In a press conference held at the BNS yesterday Nazrul Islam, the general secretary of Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation presented the tournament details. The chairman of the tournament committee and federation vice president Munir Hossain, Walton additional director AFM Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn, federation officials Nizamudin Chowdhury Parvez and Golam Faruk were also present on the occasion.
