Tarique Masud Sangskritik Kendra is set to stage the play Ashcharya Sundar Ei Benche Thaka at the Experimental theatre of Shilpakala Academy Hall at 7pm on Saturday .
Director of the play Rubayet Ahmed told Dhaka Tribune that this would be the second staging of the play.
The original script “The Game Show” is by US playwright Luigi Bryant which was first published in 1916. It was later translated in Bengali by Rubayat.
Rubayet said celebration of life has taken the center part in the play, it is about a female poet who comes to commit suicide where the death meet the life, two supernatural character, eventually get involved in a game, in which the life wins.
Chandan Bose, Sangeet Mitra, Syeda Runa Masud, Jagadish Biswas, Chinmayee Gupta, Ehsan Ponir, among others, will act as different characters in the play.
Rubayet Ahmed says, “The Game Show”, written by Feminist and Marxist journalist Bryant, hails the beauty of life.
Chandan Chowdhury directed the music.
