Khokon Razakar verdict any day

The verdict on the war crimes accused Zahid Hossain Khokon alias Khokon Razakar will be delivered any day as the hearing of the trial ended Thursday.

The International Crimes Tribunal 1 has passed the order on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the prosecution and defence concluded their arguments. 

On October 9 last year, the tribunal 1 framed 11 specific charges against Khokon Razakar that include genocide, murder of Hindus and conversion of religion during the 1971 Liberation War in Faridpur. 

Khokon, former mayor of Nagarkanda municipality and a BNP leader, was indicted in absentia on October 9 last year, on 11 charges of crimes against humanity.

The accused is currently hiding in Sweden, according to the prosecution.
