On the occasion of Pohela Boishakh (first day of the Bangla year), popular pop-rock band Shunno released their forth album in the market. The album titled Bhaago released digitally through robi radio.
A total of eight tracks are featured in the album, Bhaago, Jiboner Utsob, Shono Mohajon, Somoy Ekhon Amar and more. The song Shono Mohajon is a joint composition of Shunno and Fuad. This time around, the band experimented with electronic music and keeping live performances in mind, the songs are composed in energetic rhythm and beats.
Vocalist of the band Emil said: “Through this album, we want to share our views. Specially, the title song is an interesting piece of work. It talks about the serious aspects of life in a humorous manner.
“Bhaago is all about running after something, most of us are not even aware of what that 'something' is. We even forget why we are running and for what,” he added. Shooting of the title song's music video is directed by Paperfox.
About releasing the album on Robi, Emil said: “Listeners have to dial a specific Robi number which is 80806 and then, they can listen to our new album. After a couple of months, we will think about releasing the songs on CD.”
Radio Foorti will air the songs of Bhaago after its release on Robi. About releasing the album on telecommunication media, guitarist and producer of the album said : “Nowadays piracy has become a curse for the music industry. It makes sense to release an album or songs digitally rather than producing CD’s. We all need to be aware about it and awareness only among the musicians and industry people will not work. The audience should step forward and join us in our fight against piracy. I am very hopeful about the decision.”
Imrul Karim Emil is the lead vocalist of Shunno, Shaker Raza is the guitarist, Andrew Michael Gomes is the bassist and Rafatul Bari Labib is on drums.
Shunno’s first album titled Notun Srot came out in 2008 and was nominated for the Best Band Album award in the “Meril Prothom Alo Awards.” Their second album Shoto Asha released in 2009 and won them the Best Band of Bangladesh award in the “6th Citycell Channel I Music Awards.” Gorbo Bangladesh, their third album came out in 2011 and once again won them the Best Band of Bangladesh award in the “8th Citycell Channel I Music Awards.”
Shunno will go for more than ten tours all over the country soon.
