Law enforcement agencies have been conducting drives as per the information given by Syeda Rizwana Hasan in order to rescue her husband Siddiqui, who was abducted earlier in the day.
Narayanganj Superintendent of Police Nurul Islam made the statement while talking to the Dhaka Tribune on Wednesday evening, hours after the lawyer-entrepreneur was abducted.
He said: “Rizwana suspected that her husband was abducted by some people who have enmity with her. She has given the name of some persons also.
Police is wrking as per the information supplied by Rizwana. But, we cannot disclose any name right now for the sake of the investigation,” he added.
Hours after her husband’s abduction, Rizwana told a private satellite TV station, channel 24, RAB and police have been jointly working on the issue. They haven’t come up with any new information.
Meanwhile, Law enforcing agencies have initiated a special drive to rescue Siddique and arrest the kidnappers.
Rizwana’s husband Abu Bakar Siddique, a lawyer-entrepreneur, was abducted around 2:45pm by unidentified miscreants from Bhuiyan Filling Station area of Narayanganj on his way back to Dhaka.
Later, a case has been filed with Fatulla police station in this connection against seven unnamed persons. Meanwhile, a 12-member probe body led by ASP Sazzadur Rahman, has been formed to investigate the matter, said District Investigation Officer Mainur Rahman.
