AUST students protest 'media falsehood’

Students of the 25th batch of computer science department of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) have protested 'media falsehood' over the recent demise of their classmates at Saint Martin.  Jaodat Rahman, one of the 34 students who went to St. Martin on a tour, sent an email to Dhaka Tribune on behalf of his classmates.  In the letter the students claimed that almost all the media is presenting fabricated news regarding their Saint Martin accident on 14 th April. They confirmed the two bodies which are found on Wednesday morning are of Golam Rahim Bappi and Shahriar Rahman Noman.  The letter read: “Many newspapers and online news portal said we went on a educational tour but there were not any teachers with us, which is totally wrong. It was just a batch tour our teachers are not involved with it."  They also stated that they received no prior warning of danger on that Zone and there was no danger sign or anything else which could aware them of the potential catastrophes.  On Monday, 34 students who were travelling St. Martin Island of Cox’s Bazar went for a sea bath and wave took away four of them. Some others got away with minor injuries. Among the four two dead bodies are found and two others are still missing.
