An eight-year-old girl has been killed and 15 others have been injured in a clash between two village’s groups over a trivial matter in Tarail upazila of Kishoreganj district on Friday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Tonni, daughter of Jalal Uddin and a class III student of Shimulhati Primary School.
Tarail police station Officer-in-Charge Md Aminul Islam said: “The inhabitants of Somakjani and Shimulhati villages locked into a clash over the ownership of ducks around 12:30pm, killing Tonni on the spot and injuring the others.”
He said Tonni received head injury in the clash.
The OC said the body has been sent to Kishoreganj Sadar morgue for autopsy while the injured were admitted to Tarail Health Complex.
A murder case has been filed with Tarail police station in connection to the incident.
Meanwhile, two people have been arrested in connection to the matter.
