A drama series titled Sonali Megher Bhela will be aired at 10:30pm tonight on Desh TV. Directed by Touhid Khan Biplob and Moniruzzaman Lipon, the drama has been written by M Aslam Liton. Sonali Megher Bhela, features Urmila, Armaan, Dipa Khandokaar, Wahida Mollick Jolly, Masood Ali Khan, Tania Hossain, Dihan, Shahadat Hossain, Tripti Chakroborty and Sara Zaker.
The story is about women’s struggle for emancipation. Ananya is from a middle class family and faces the typical restrictions imposed on the females of a Bangalee society. Her brother Sabbir refuses to let her work or tie the knot with the man she loves. The spirit of a rebel rises inside Ananya and her motivation to break free leads her towards empowerment. Inspired by Ananya, Sabbir’s wife also wants to work. She knows that she will have to succumb to the limitations a female is imposed with in this society and therefore hopes to engage herself in productive ways.
With help from a friend, Ananya gets a job in a TV serial and her sister-in-law Sraboni gets a job in a buying house. Sabbir faces deep dilemma as he could not accept her sister working in the showbiz world.
