Many would accuse the rise in use of personal vehicle in the recent years for traffic congestion in the capital.
However, on the backdrop of the deadlocks of traffic that Dhaka sees every day, city people have been found increasingly leaning on the use of motorcycle.
The number of motorcycle was just not only growing, but also has outnumbered the other forms of vehicles in the capital, shows the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) data.
According to BRTA data, motorcycles nearly doubled private cars in number, much more than the other vehicles that ply on the capital roads.
As of March 2014, the number of registered motorcycles plying on the city roads is 311,071 while private cars are 195,031 in number.
