One more victim in the fire at the warehouse of a perfume factory in capital’s Chawkbazar area, has succumbed to his wounds on Monday morning, after five-day battle against the death.
Identified as Azizur Rahman, the 36-year-old youth, who was an employee of the factory, died at around 6:30am at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Hailed from Matlab upazila in Chandpur district, Azizur received 40% burns.
Azizur along with two other employees of the factory received burns after a fire broke out at the warehouse at night on April 2. The fire reportedly had originated from a burning cigarette.
Earlier on April 3, one of the victims, Kabir Hossain succumbed to his injuries.
Besides, the condition of another victim named Mafizur Rahman was also stated to be critical.
Partha Shankar Paul, a surgeon at the Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit, said Mafizur was undergoing treatment at the DMCH with 45% burns.
