Chairman of the Anti Corruption Commission Badiuzzaman has said Corruption was present everywhere adding the commission was continuing its regular work to curb it.
He made the statement while addressing a programme at Joydebpur Government Girls High School.
Mentioning that the ACC is doing its regular duties independently, he said: “We faced no pressure from the government. We have asked ministers and influential people to submit their wealth statement.
Moreover we have issued show cause notices to many of them for misappropriation,” he added.
“If they fail to answer our show causes, the commission will take action against them.”
Urging all to fight against corruption, he said: “A two-and a-half-month long training session will begin from April 6 for the employees of the ACC in order to ratify the malfunctions of the commission.”
Drawing the attention of the students of Joydebpur Government Girls High School, the ACC boss said: “We always speak the truth and we shall abide by the instruction of the truth and integrity.
We have achieved our own land, freedom and national flag but we did not get the economical freedom. In order to make an economically free country, we should resist any move of corruption,” he added.
