An elderly pedestrian has died on the spot after being run over by a speeding passenger bus in Slanga area of Sirajganj.
The dead has been identified as Bodhan Chandra Mahato, 70, son of late Mongol Chandra Mahota from Rayganj upazila in the district.
The pedestrian was run over on the Sirajganj-Bogra highway in Bhuiangati Itladigar area around 9:30am, Hatikamrul highway police Seargent Iqbal Hossain said.
“A Dhaka-bound bus from Bogra ran over him. The man died on the spot.”
The body was taken to Hatikamrul police outpost. The bus was seized, however the driver managed to flee from the spot.
