A seven-year-old minor has been killed on the spot run over by a speeding truck while playing by the roadside in Satkhira Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The dead has been identified as Nayem Hassan, 7, son of Abul Hossain in the upazila and a second grade student of Shikri Primary School.
Nayeem was playing with his friends when a cattle-laden truck ran him over around afternoon, Satkhira Sadar police Officer-in-Charge Inamul Haq said.
A search is on for the truck, he added. Preparations were underway to file a case over this matter.
